The Artemis effect

I’ve been wanting to start a blog and a newsletter to subscribers for a while, and I feel like now is the time! That is all thanks to the inspiring Artemis 2 mission which launched and landed during the first 10 days of April 2026 (with a short detour to the moon on the way!).

I’ve been totally enraptured with it. I forgot how thoroughly enthralling SPACE can be. I’ve had spacey dreams for the first time in ages. I spent 10 days feel consumed with vivd green jealousy and a longing to be in space, staring at the Moon casually out the window.

If this is what Artemis 2 can do to me, a space enthusiast, imagine what the Artemis 2 effect might be on you! Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, or a CEO of a big corporate company, we’re all affected by space technology and I’ve not met anyone yet who hasn’t been affected by the sheer humanity of the Artemis 2 mission.

I spent the mission duration in a Moony haze, a funk and a mixture of every emotion. Those 4 humans made me laugh, cry, think deeply, live and love. Yes there has been a lot of science learnt from the mission, but the take-home message for me has been about us as a crew, a collective, a collaboration of people all aboard the spaceship that is Earth.

I gave 4 radio interviews and spoke about the Moon and space travel at various different events during the mission. I have chatted to countless new space aficionados thanks to the breathtaking photos that have been streaming back. I’ve met children who now want to be astronauts, or work in the space industry, because of watching the incredible journey of those 4 astronauts.

Check out the rest of my website to see what inspirational spacey things I can do for your company. Come and chat to me about a team building event you need a space-themed event for. Ask me a space question! Even about the space toilet ….
