I have watched the EDI space transform over the 10+ years I’ve worked in it.

I’ve had experience in many facets of EDI, from writing and running surveys and analysing data, working with diverse audiences, organising conferences about EDI, and publishing articles on various EDI topics.

EDI has become my greatest passion, and I now have qualifications in different areas of equity and inclusion, including a CMI Level 7 award in “Strategic Approaches to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion”.

I have worked with partners such as the Institute of Physics and the Royal Society of Chemistry in founding the LGBT+ Physical Sciences Network, and am regularly asked to comment on EDI issues in STEM in the UK. I am an honorary researcher at Lancaster University investigating the diversity of student demographics in physics and astronomy.

I was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List in 2022 for services to astronomy and diversity in physics.
